Athlete Wise, is a performance and nutrition coaching business. We will address things to put in your arsenal so that you can stay 100% healthy year round. However, this is not a fast acting remedy. This is not like many other coaching businesses where they hand you a plan and you’re on your way. This is an educational process. The concepts we present will take a consistent approach to see the improvements.
Endurance sports can be an invigorating activity. There are so many benefits to participating in sport. The lifestyle that it brings is invaluable. You can get extremely fit and be healthy by embarking on your lifestyle. But along with the positives we want to train smart and efficient so we can stay away from the negatives the sports can bring as well. From aching shin splints and feet, painful knees and hips to a sore lower back, this sport can definitely take a toll on the body. Our body can be a finely tuned machine with correct and smart training, and with so much demand on the body from vigorous training, athletes need to build balance throughout their entire body. By implementing a proper diet and enhancing your functional movement through proper training you can decrease injury, recover quicker, be healthy and take advantage of living this awesome lifestyle. Specific training for endurance athletes can tremendously enhance overall performance. Your goal as an athlete and a healthy individual should be to reduce pain, prevent further pain, improve performance, be healthy and ultimately perform in the game of life, for as long as the game lasts.
Athlete Wise offers training programs, weekly functional strength classes, skill series, mini training camps and nutritional seminars. We’ll go over training concepts that should be implemented into an athletes’ program. Things that will be covered: sport specific mechanics, proper warm-up and cool-down strategies, corrective exercises to improve balance and posture, specific power and strength movements, specific conditioning protocols, soft tissue therapy (massage using a foam roll, massage stick or tennis ball), proper flexibility training . We will also touch on specific nutritional strategies for athletes and the ins and outs of properly fueling before, during and after training sessions, offer nutritional seminars, videos and grocery shopping tours to help educate the athlete.
